Father's Day Breakfast

Happy Father's Day everyone! Hope you enjoyed some time with your main man today.
It's a tradition in my family to always cook breakfast for holidays (mother's day, birthdays, christmas, etc). So this morning to celebrate our dad my sister and I cooked dad breakfast. My sister contribution included bacon and eggs and mine was blueberry pancakes. I tried a new recipe for blueberry pancakes that I am seriously in love with!
These pancakes are packed with protein, are made from only 4 ingredients, and are SO delicious!
I found the recipe off of a blog I love to read, Peanut Butter Fingers.
Here is the recipe. I doubled the recipe and followed it exactly to make 6 large pancakes.

Check that out: Just over 12 grams of protein in one pancake, only 19 grams of carbs, and hardly any fat. Yummy and so good for you! What a way to start the day : )

Jillian Michaels FTW

Friday morning I was feeling something different for exercise since the past few days I had been running. So I  went to the "Health" tab under my favorites and found some of my very favorite Jillian Michaels' workout videos! Jillian's videos have seriously improved my fitness level and were a great resource when I was recovering from a running injury all semester and couldn't run.
One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to get abs, and Jillian Michaels' "6 Week Six Pack Level 1" got the job done! The video uses one dumbbell (5-7 pounds) and is just over 30 minutes long. Although it's goal is to get results for your midsection, the video is actually pretty comprehensive incorporating lower back strength exercises, along with abs. Another thing the video does that is signature to Jillian is using HIT training-high intensity training, so the video incorporates 30 second cardio intervals like burpees and mountain climbers that get your heart rate going and the fat burning!

Following 6 Week Six Pack I completed Jillian's "Shredded in 30-Level 2." The Shredded in 30 series has 3 levels, all of which are great 20 minute workouts. Each uses a set of dumbbells. Warning, level 1 seriously works your soldiers like nothing else!



Try these two out, I think you'll really like them and they are, especially, great if you have limited time to workout one day!
